I would like a moment of your time to briefly present a series of textbooks published by an NGO (The Centre for Democracy in Southeast Europe) and written by a joint committee of historians drawn from all Balkan countries.
The books include texts by Dolcev, Misirkov, Hadji-Nilolov and other important historical figures. Their aim is to present the point of view of each Balkan ethnicity on the historical events they describe.
I would like those of you who are interested to skim their content and if possible share your opinion of them, i.e. Do you see them as objective, truthful and balanced and would you be happy for these books to be taught in schools in your country? Was there something that bothered you about them?
The four tomes published so far cover the period from the Ottoman Empire to the end of WWII. If you wish, in addition to posting your opinion here you can also inform the NGO of your thoughts and suggestions by following this link:
